Speaker and Author Website Design for Cristina Moore to Steward Her Platform
Cristina Moore is an author, speaker and writer with a heart to offer everyday encouragement through faith-filled storytelling.
She had a blog. She had a growing body of work. She had been featured in compilation books alongside other authors. She has a gift for standing on a stage and drawing people in. She desires a publishing deal to author more books.
What she didn't have was a website that could carry all of that.
The Dream and the Gap
I met Cristina at the She Speaks Conference last year, one of those gatherings where the air feels thick with calling and every conversation seems divinely orchestrated. We started talking and it didn't take long to understand both where she was and where she was trying to go.
She had a simple WordPress blog that had served its purpose in the early days of building her platform. But here's something I want to gently push back on: the idea that WordPress is the only serious or professional option for authors and speakers. That's outdated thinking, and I watch it hold so many talented creatives back.
WordPress can be powerful, but it can also be clunky, plugin-heavy, and genuinely exhausting to maintain on your own. For a writer whose best energy belongs on the page, not troubleshooting software updates, it becomes a drain instead of an asset. Squarespace, when designed strategically, is just as professional, far more intuitive to manage, and produces stunning results that actually convert.
Cristina knew her blog had a ceiling. She could feel it. And she was ready to break through it.
But the gap wasn't just about aesthetics or platform. It was about what was at stake.
Publishers and literary agents look you up. Before they ever say yes to a manuscript, they want evidence of a platform. They want to see that you have an audience, that you show up consistently, and that you carry yourself with professionalism online. Your website is often the very first thing they see. It can be the difference between a yes and a silent pass.
Cristina understood the assignment. She just needed the right partner to help her build it.
A Website With a Job to Do
Here's the thing about Cristina's website that made this project so layered and exciting: it wasn't designed for one audience. It was designed for several, and it needed to speak to each of them clearly and confidently without losing its warmth or cohesion.
Event planners needed to land on her site and immediately understand who she is, what she speaks about, and how to book her. Publishers needed to see a platform worth investing in. Readers needed to feel at home and want to come back. Fellow authors and collaborators needed to see the full picture of her writing journey.
That's a lot for one website to do. But that's exactly what a strategic website is built for.
Using the Built to Be Found Method™, I designed Cristina's site from the ground up as a comprehensive personal brand hub, one that could hold every dimension of who she is and where she is going.
We gave her podcast her podcast a beautiful, dedicated home. We built a speaker page that presents her professionally and makes booking simple. We showcased her compilation book contributions as the meaningful credentials they are. We grew her blog into a central, beautiful feature of the site where her writing could breathe and her voice could reach more people over time.
We built in email list growth at every natural touchpoint, because for an aspiring author, a growing list isn't just a nice-to-have. It's one of the first things a publisher asks about. And we built in a media kit, one of my favorite things to include and something far too many creatives skip, so that Cristina can send anyone, a publisher, a podcast host, an event planner, directly to her site and let it speak on her behalf without her having to put together a single additional document.
Every piece of it was intentional. Every page had a purpose. Nothing was included just because it looked nice.
What a custom website helps her do
Cristina walked away with more than a website. She walked away with a platform. One that positions her as the credible, established speaker she already is. One that tells the story of her writing journey in a way that earns trust from publishers before she ever sends a query letter. One that gives her readers a warm, inviting home to return to and a reason to stay connected. One that represents her with the kind of polish that communicates, quietly and confidently, that she is ready for what is next. For Cristina, this wasn't just a design project. It was an act of stewardship over the calling God placed on her life. She is a woman with a message worth carrying far, and now she has a platform built to carry it. I don't take lightly what it means to build something like that for someone. Every website I design is someone's dream made digital. And getting to be part of Cristina's story, helping her take up the space she was always meant to occupy, is exactly why I do this work.
Your Story Deserves a Platform Too
Maybe you see yourself somewhere in Cristina's story. You have the message, the experience, the calling. But your website isn't keeping up. It doesn't reflect where you are now, let alone where you are going. Or maybe you've been told you need WordPress to be taken seriously, and something about that has been quietly holding you back from building the platform you actually need. Either way, I want you to know: there is a better way, and it doesn't have to be complicated or overwhelming. Using my Built to Be Found Method™, I build strategic websites for Christian creatives, authors, speakers, and personal brands that bring together intentional design, clear messaging, and built-in growth tools. Not just something beautiful to look at, but something that genuinely works for your calling every single day.
Book a free call with me and let's talk about building a platform worthy of the message you carry. You were made for more than a website that holds you back. Let's build one that propels you forward.
